Production Manager

We are looking for an experienced Production Manager to lead our roastery operations. You’ll take charge of structuring and managing logistics, production, and inventory, ensuring the highest quality and efficiency standards across the board. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone passionate about operational excellence and speciality coffee.
Key Responsibilities
Production & Fulfilment
- Oversee daily roasting, packaging, and dispatch operations to meet B2B and B2C requirements.
- Ensure timely, accurate order fulfilment focusing on quality and product shelf life.
- Implement and monitor production metrics to drive efficiency and reduce waste.
Inventory & Stock Management
- Manage inventory of green coffee, packaging materials, and consumables.
- Use inventory control systems to maintain optimal stock levels and minimise discrepancies.
- Liaise with suppliers to ensure timely replenishment of all necessary materials.
Logistics & Supply Chain
- Structure and manage inbound and outbound logistics, ensuring smooth daily operations.
- Work closely with sales and store managers to align production with demand forecasts.
- Improve supply chain workflows to support continued growth.
Compliance & Quality Assurance
- Maintain Health & Safety standards and SALSA certification compliance.
- Ensure adherence to Organic Certification, Fairtrade, and Sedex standards.
- Develop and enforce quality control procedures across the roastery.
Team Leadership
- Lead and develop a small team of production staff in a collaborative, high-performance environment.
- Provide regular coaching, training, and support to drive team improvement and efficiency.
Cross-Functional Support
- Support the sales team with production planning, timelines, and stock updates.
- Assist store managers with product availability, stock levels, and logistics coordination.
Skills & Experience Required
- Experience in a similar production management role within a speciality coffee or food and beverage environment.
- Knowledge of roasting processes, equipment, and product quality standards.
- Familiarity with stock management systems and production planning tools.
- Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Proven leadership and people management capabilities.
- A clear understanding of Health & Safety, SALSA, Organic, Fairtrade, and Sedex compliance requirements.
- Confidence working across departments and communicating effectively with multiple stakeholders.
